Ted began his career with Merck & Co. in Clinical Pharmacology and Pulmonary-Immunology and eventually was responsible for other therapeutic areas within the company including Gastroenterology. Ted also worked at Covance, fostering an integrated approach to drug development, Vanderbilt School of Medicine in Molecular Toxicology and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) and joins us most recently from Novartis Pharmaceuticals where he was Vice President, Clinical Development. Ted brings significant experience in inflammation, immunology and gastroenterology.
In addition, Ted is presently a lecturer in clinical and translational research at University of Pennsylvania Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics, serves as a Trustee of the ATS Foundation, and was selected to serve on the American Thoracic Society’s Strategic Planning Committee. He is a member of the FDA Science Board, who provides advice to the Commissioner on scientific issues.
Ted earned his MD from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He also attended University of Pennsylvania where he received a BA in Biology and History and an MBE in Bioethics.
