Biography
Kevin Kinsella has been investing in early-stage technology companies for over thirty years, through Avalon Ventures, a venture capital fund he founded. These companies have been responsible for bringing to market several multibillion-dollar drugs for cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, cystic fibrosis, the Apple iPhone touch-screen, Big Data software to discover oil and gas, cloud computing, AI and Zynga.
Mr. Kinsella is a MIT Life Sustaining Fellow, is on Johns Hopkins SAIS Dean’s Advisory Counsel and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Kinsella Estates winery produces one of the highest rated Cabernets in Sonoma County, regularly receiving 96 and 95-point scores from The Wine Advocate.
Mr. Kinsella is a Life Sustaining Fellow at MIT and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
He won the 2006 Tony Award for producing the mega-hit Broadway musical, Jersey Boys, he also won the Olivier, Green Room, Helpmann and Naledi Awards. Jersey Boys’ Grammy-winning CD is now Double Platinum. Kevin received his second Tony nomination for the revival of Jesus Christ Superstar.
Kinsella Estates Winery (Healdsburg, California), produces the highest rated premium Dry Creek Valley cabernet sauvignon, receiving 95 and 96-point ratings from The Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator. His collection of California Plein Air art, housed at the Kinsella Library in La Jolla, is among the best in the world.
