Biography
Jimmy Rosen is Managing Partner of Three Lakes Partners, a Venture Philanthropy on a mission to end Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). Three Lakes Partners is attacking IPF from all sides: diagnosis, treatment, patient quality of life, research, and funding all by engaging the most innovative, aggressive and experienced partners in their fight against IPF.
Jimmy has broad experience in research, finance and operational roles over a nearly 30-year career in healthcare, including President and CEO of Artizan Biosciences and Deputy Director, Program-Related Investments, at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Before Artizan and BMGF, he spent 10 years as a venture capitalist with Intersouth Partners. Prior to joining Intersouth, he spent 15 years in clinical, research and financial positions in biotechnology.
Rosen’s research experience includes programs at the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at UNC-Chapel Hill, NCI and Duke University Medical Center. He also managed clinical trials at a privately held CRO, which led to FDA-approved products. Rosen spent several years as an equity research analyst covering biopharmaceuticals, genomics, generics, drug delivery and medical device companies. He also spent five years in EMS as a mountain search & rescue and ambulance medic.
Rosen holds a BA from Duke and an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill where he was a Carolina Venture Fellow and recipient of the Frank Hawkins Kenan Award for Excellence. He received an MSPH from the UNC School of Public Health, and in 2010 was awarded the Eisenhower Fellowship to evaluate healthcare innovation in China and Southeast Asia.
